Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup almond milk or any milk of choice
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp almond butter
  • 1-2 tbsp maple syrup to taste
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • Toppings of choice fruit, nut butter, granola, nuts, etc.

Method

Preparation
  1. Gather all your ingredients and have them measured out.
  2. Put the rolled oats, almond milk, and water in a small pot.
  3. Place the pot on the stovetop and cook over medium-high heat.
  4. Stir frequently, ensuring the oats do not stick to the bottom of the pot.
  5. Cook for about 7-8 minutes, until thick and creamy.
  6. Remove the pot from the heat once cooked to your desired consistency.
  7. Divide the oatmeal into bowls and add your favorite toppings.

Notes

Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less maple syrup depending on your taste. For creamier oatmeal, use only almond milk and skip the water. Experiment with spices—adding nutmeg or pumpkin spice can give it a seasonal twist. If you like your oats a little thicker, cook them a few minutes longer. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
