Baked Brie in Bread Bowl with Cranberry Sauce and Thyme

  • 1 round loaf rustic bread boule
  • 12 ounces wheel of brie, top rind removed, triple cream if possible
  • 1 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut the top off the bread boule and hollow out the inside, leaving about an inch thick of bread around the sides.
  3. Place the brie cheese inside the hollowed bread bowl.
  4. Top the brie with whole berry cranberry sauce and sprinkle fresh thyme leaves on top.
  5. Brush the outside of the bread bowl with olive oil.
Baking
  1. Place the bread bowl on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with the bread pieces that were removed, and enjoy!

Notes

Best served warm right out of the oven. Can be placed in the center of the table for guests to dig in. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
