Ingredients

For the salmon
  • 4 fillets salmon fillets (6 oz each) Use fresh or properly thawed salmon.
For the bang bang sauce
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise Use regular or light mayonnaise.
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha Adjust the amount for less heat.
  • 1 tablespoon honey Can be substituted with agave syrup for a vegan option.
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar Offers a light acidity to balance the flavors.
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce Use low-sodium if preferred.
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil Adds richness and depth of flavor.
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced For garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven's broiler to high and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sriracha, honey, rice vinegar, and soy sauce. Stir in the sesame oil.
  3. Place the salmon fillets on the baking sheet and generously brush them with the bang bang sauce, coating both sides.
Cooking
  1. Broil the salmon for 8-10 minutes, monitoring closely until the fillets flake easily with a fork.
  2. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve immediately.

Notes

For best flavor, marinate the salmon in the bang bang sauce for a short time before broiling. Keep an eye on the salmon while it's broiling; every oven varies, and you want to avoid burning it. Use fresh ingredients for the sauce, especially the green onions, to enhance the overall taste.
