Ingredients
  

For the bread dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm water Ensure the water is warm, not hot, to properly activate the yeast.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large resealable bag, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add the warm water and olive oil to the bag. Seal it and knead gently until a dough forms.
  3. Let the dough rise in the bag for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Lightly grease a baking sheet.
  6. Open the bag, gently push the air out, and shape the dough into a loaf.
  7. Place the loaf on the baking sheet and allow it to rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown.
  9. Let cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

Fresh homemade bread is perfect warm from the oven. Slice it and enjoy with butter, or make tasty sandwiches. It’s also great toasted with jam for breakfast. Store bread in an airtight bag or container at room temperature, or freeze it for longer storage.
