Preparation
- Cut the broccoli into bite-sized pieces. Rinse and drain thoroughly.
- Add the broccoli to a large mixing bowl.
- If using a block of cheese, shred it; otherwise, use packaged shredded cheese. Add cheese to the bowl with broccoli.
- Measure and add the dried cranberries to the bowl.
- Chop the cooked bacon and add it to the mixture.
- Measure and add the salted sunflower seeds.
- Chop red onion and add ⅓ cup to the bowl.
Dressing Preparation
- In a separate bowl, mix mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, and sugar. Stir the dressing until well combined, then pour it over the salad.
Combining
- Toss everything together until the broccoli and other ingredients are well coated in the dressing.
Notes
For best flavor, let the salad chill in the refrigerator for about an hour before serving. The salad can be stored for up to three days in an airtight container.
