  • 1 cup lump crab meat
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Old Bay or Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3 tbsp garlic butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 pinch salt

Equipment

  • large mixing bowl For preparing the seafood filling
  • Baking sheet For shaping and baking the crescent ring
  • pastry brush For brushing on the egg wash and garlic butter
  • Small mixing bowl For preparing the dipping sauce
  • whisk For mixing the creamy dipping sauce

Method

  1. In a bowl, combine the chopped shrimp, crab meat, cream cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic, parsley, Old Bay or Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Arrange the crescent dough triangles in a circle on a baking sheet with the wide ends overlapping in the center.
  3. Spoon the crab and shrimp mixture evenly around the wide portion of the crescent dough. Fold the pointed ends over the seafood filling and tuck them underneath to form a ring.
  4. Brush the crescent ring with beaten egg. Bake for 22 to 25 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  5. As soon as the crab and shrimp crescent ring comes out of the oven, brush the top generously with the melted garlic butter.
  6. Whisk together the Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons melted butter, lemon juice, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  7. Place the creamy dipping sauce in the center of the warm crescent ring and serve while the cheesy crab and shrimp filling is hot.

Notes

Use cooked shrimp and drain the lump crab well before mixing the filling.
Arrange the crescent triangles with the wide ends overlapping so the ring holds together while baking.
Spread the seafood filling evenly around the wide portion of the dough for even slices.
Tuck the pointed ends underneath the ring so the filling stays enclosed.
Brush with beaten egg before baking for a glossy golden finish.
Brush the hot crescent ring with garlic butter immediately after baking.
Whisk the dipping sauce until smooth and serve it in the center of the warm ring.
