  • 2 cups raw almonds
  • 1/2 cup sugar Can be substituted with a sugar-free sweetener.
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon butter Can be replaced with a dairy-free alternative.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup water To help dissolve the sugar.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar, cinnamon, butter, salt, and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Add the almonds to the saucepan and stir to coat them evenly.
  4. Spread the almonds in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  5. Roast in the oven for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown.
  6. Let the almonds cool completely before transferring them to cellophane bags for gift giving.

Notes

Stir almonds occasionally while roasting for even cooking and watch closely in the last few minutes. Customize with vanilla extract or other nuts as desired.
