Ingredients
  

  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 2 medium apples peeled, cored, and diced
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 egg beaten, for egg wash

Method
 

Prepare the Filling:
  1. In a medium bowl, mix the diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and cornstarch until evenly coated. Set aside.
Cut the Puff Pastry:
  1. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to smooth the edges.
  2. Cut the pastry into four equal squares.
Fill and Fold:
  1. Place a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each square.
  2. Fold each square diagonally to form a triangle and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
Brush with Egg Wash:
  1. Lightly brush the tops of the turnovers with the beaten egg for a shiny, golden finish.
Bake:
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the turnovers on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
Cool and Serve:
  1. Allow the turnovers to cool for 5 minutes before serving. Optional: dust with powdered sugar for a decorative touch.
