Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened (225 g)
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar (50 g)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup caramel sauce (120 ml), store-bought or homemade
  • 4–5 medium apples, sliced (Honeycrisp, Gala, or Granny Smith)
  • optional toppings: chopped nuts, mini chocolate chips, toffee bits

Equipment

  • medium mixing bowl
  • hand mixer or whisk
  • shallow serving dish
  • spatula
  • knife and cutting board (for apples)

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, beat softened cream cheese with brown sugar and vanilla until smooth and fluffy.
  2. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly in a shallow serving dish.
  3. Pour caramel sauce over the top, spreading gently to cover.
  4. Sprinkle with optional toppings, then serve immediately with apple slices.

Notes

Room-temperature cream cheese blends best. Toss apple slices in lemon juice to prevent browning. Prepare the cream cheese layer ahead of time, but add caramel just before serving for best texture. Store covered in the fridge for up to 3 days.
