Ingredients

Pita Chips
  • 4 large large pita pockets (whole wheat or regular white)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (or coconut oil for dairy-free) Use coconut oil if you prefer a dairy-free option.
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (or coconut sugar)
  • 1 pinch salt

Method

Preparation
  1. Cut each pita pocket into 8 triangles by halving it, then cutting each half into quarters. Try to separate the two layers inside if possible.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and a pinch of salt. Stir well to combine.
  3. Melt the 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter.
  4. Lightly coat each pita triangle with melted butter using a pastry brush or your fingers.
  5. Toss the buttered pita chips gently in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat evenly.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3 minutes.
  2. Place the pita chips in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding them.
  3. Air fry the chips for 6-8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. Watch closely to avoid burning.
Cooling and Storing
  1. Transfer the chips to a wire rack to cool completely before storing them in an airtight container.

Notes

To keep your crispy pita chips fresh, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week. Freeze in a freezer-safe bag for longer storage. Let them thaw at room temperature before enjoying.
