  • 4 slices ham Salty flavor enhances the dish
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese Can substitute with mozzarella or cheddar
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Use fresh for extra crunch
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 pieces eggs Beaten for dipping
  • 1/4 cup honey mustard sauce For drizzling before serving
  • to taste Salt and pepper For seasoning
  • as needed tablespoons Olive oil For frying

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) or heat oil in a pan for frying.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and then coat with breadcrumbs.
Cooking
  1. If baking, place the chicken on a baking sheet; if frying, carefully place it in the hot oil.
  2. Cook until golden brown on both sides, about 6-7 minutes per side.
  3. Top each chicken breast with a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese.
  4. Bake in the oven until the cheese is melted (if baked) or cover the pan until the cheese melts (if fried).
  5. Drizzle with honey mustard sauce before serving.

Notes

Make sure to pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness for even cooking. Allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes after cooking to keep it juicy. Can experiment with different types of cheese and add vegetables for variation.
