Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) or heat oil in a pan for frying.
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and then coat with breadcrumbs.
Cooking
- If baking, place the chicken on a baking sheet; if frying, carefully place it in the hot oil.
- Cook until golden brown on both sides, about 6-7 minutes per side.
- Top each chicken breast with a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese.
- Bake in the oven until the cheese is melted (if baked) or cover the pan until the cheese melts (if fried).
- Drizzle with honey mustard sauce before serving.
Notes
Make sure to pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness for even cooking. Allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes after cooking to keep it juicy. Can experiment with different types of cheese and add vegetables for variation.
