  • 1 pre-made tart shell 1 pre-made tart shell Use a pre-made tart shell that can be baked or already baked.
For the filling
  • 1 cup 1 cup ricotta cheese Use fresh ricotta for the best texture.
  • 2 tablespoons 2 tablespoons honey Adjust based on sweetness preference.
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For added flavor.
  • 8-10 pieces 8 to 10 fresh figs, sliced Use ripe figs for best flavor.
  • to taste Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional) Optional for garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) if you’re baking the tart shell.
  2. If using a pre-made tart shell that needs baking, follow the instructions and bake until lightly golden.
  3. In a bowl, mix the ricotta cheese, honey, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  4. Spread the ricotta mixture evenly into the cooled tart shell.
  5. Arrange the sliced figs on top of the ricotta in a decorative pattern.
  6. If desired, drizzle a bit more honey over the figs for extra sweetness.
  7. Chill the tart in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Serving
  1. Cut the tart into slices and serve it chilled.
  2. Add a few fresh mint leaves on top for an elegant touch.
  3. It pairs well with a cup of tea or coffee.
Storage
  1. Cover the tart with plastic wrap and keep it in the fridge.
  2. Best enjoyed within 2-3 days as the figs can become mushy over time.

Notes

For best results, use fresh, ripe figs. If figs are unavailable, other fruits like pears or peaches can be substituted. Chill the tart thoroughly before serving for the best experience. To add a twist, consider adding lemon zest to the ricotta or a drizzle of balsamic glaze on top.
