Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Method

  1. Season the shrimp with paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook 1 to 2 minutes per side, until pink and tender. Transfer to a plate.
  3. In the same skillet, add the broccoli with a small splash of water. Cover and cook 3 to 4 minutes, until bright green and just tender.
  4. Stir in the garlic and red pepper flakes, if using. Cook 30 seconds, until fragrant.
  5. Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss everything together in the garlic butter sauce.
  6. Drizzle with lemon juice and sprinkle with parsley. Serve immediately over rice, pasta, or on its own.

Notes

Pat shrimp completely dry before seasoning if using frozen shrimp — this helps them sear instead of steam.
Red pepper flakes are optional; adjust to your preferred spice level.
