  • 1 lb jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 zucchini, diced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp beef broth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes, optional

Equipment

  • large skillet
  • Tongs
  • wooden spoon or spatula
  • knife and cutting board
  • Serving bowls

Method

  1. Season the steak cubes with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over high heat. Sear the steak for 2 to 3 minutes per side, until nicely browned. Add the butter and minced garlic during the last minute, then remove and keep warm.
  3. Season the shrimp with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and garlic powder.
  4. In the same skillet, add the olive oil and butter. Cook the shrimp for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes per side, until pink and lightly caramelized. Remove from the skillet.
  5. Melt the butter in the skillet and sauté the garlic. Add the onions and cook for 2 minutes. Stir in the broccoli and zucchini, then cook for 5 to 6 minutes until tender-crisp.
  6. Add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and crushed red pepper flakes if using. Simmer for 2 minutes.
  7. Return the steak and shrimp to the skillet and gently toss until everything is coated in the garlic butter sauce.
  8. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately in bowls or meal-prep containers.

Notes

Cut the steak into evenly sized bite-size cubes so the pieces cook at the same rate.
Sear the steak over high heat for good browning, then add the butter and garlic during the final minute.
Cook the shrimp only until pink and lightly caramelized to keep them tender.
Cook the broccoli and zucchini until tender-crisp so they maintain their texture.
The crushed red pepper flakes are optional and can be omitted for a milder dish.
Serve immediately in bowls or divide into meal-prep containers.
