  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14 oz)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • to serve Parmesan cheese
  • for garnish Fresh basil

Method
 

Cooking the Beef
  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent.
Making the Sauce
  1. Stir in the diced tomatoes, beef broth, and Italian seasoning.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil, then add the orzo pasta.
  3. Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 10-12 minutes, or until the orzo is cooked.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce is creamy.
Serving
  1. Serve hot, garnished with Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of broth or cream if needed.
