Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix together the rolled oats, nut butter, honey or maple syrup, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
- Stir in your choice of mix-ins.
- Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking pan and press firmly.
Baking
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars.
Notes
Store your homemade granola bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. They can also be refrigerated for up to two weeks or frozen for up to three months. Pressing the mixture firmly helps the bars stick together. Experiment with different nut butters and mix-ins.
