  • 1/4 cup honey Adjust sweetness as desired.
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar Add more or less depending on your preference.
  • 2 tablespoons butter Use unsalted butter.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon For additional warmth, consider mixing in nutmeg.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup walnuts Optional; can substitute or omit.

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the pears in half and remove the core.
Cooking
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, and salt until melted and bubbly.
  2. Arrange the pear halves in a baking dish and pour the caramel mixture over the pears.
  3. If using, sprinkle walnuts on top.
  4. Roast in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pears are tender and caramelized.
  5. Serve warm, drizzled with additional caramel sauce if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Reheat in the microwave or oven before serving. Serve with vanilla ice cream for a delightful contrast.
