Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 pieces Chicken breasts (Boneless, skinless breasts for even cooking.)
  • to taste Salt and pepper (To taste.)
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil (For cooking.)
  • 2 tablespoons Honey (Maple syrup can be used as a substitute.)
  • 2 tablespoons Lime juice (Fresh is best.)
  • 2 pieces Avocados, sliced (Choose ripe but firm avocados.)
For Serving (Optional)
  • to taste Salad greens or rice (For serving.) Optional

Method

Preparation
  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the honey and lime juice.
Cooking
  1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  3. During the last few minutes of cooking, pour the honey-lime mixture over the chicken, allowing it to glaze the meat.
Serving
  1. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  2. Serve the sliced chicken on a plate with avocado slices on the side. Add optional salad greens or rice for a complete meal.

Notes

Make sure your chicken breasts are of even thickness for uniform cooking. If you like a bit of spice, consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper to the honey-lime mixture. Use ripe avocados for the best texture, but not overripe as they can become mushy.
