Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Cut the bread into cubes and place them in the prepared dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Pour this mixture evenly over the bread cubes.
- In another bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, and cold butter. Mix until crumbly using a pastry cutter or your fingers. Stir in the chopped nuts if you like.
- Sprinkle the crumbly mixture over the top of the bread and egg mixture.
Cooking
- Bake for about 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious casserole!
