  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream Can substitute with half-and-half or increase milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup butter (cold and cubed)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional) Add if desired

  5. Sprinkle the crumbly mixture over the top of the bread and egg mixture.
Cooking
  1. Bake for about 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
  2. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious casserole!

Notes

Serve warm from the oven with powdered sugar, maple syrup, or whipped cream. Toppings like fresh fruit enhance the dish. If leftovers exist, cool completely, cover, and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
