Ingredients

  • 2 lobster tails
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Equipment

  • Kitchen shears
  • Baking dish
  • skillet
  • Spoon

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Using kitchen shears, cut down the top shell of each lobster tail and gently lift the meat over the shell while keeping it attached at the base.
  2. Place the lobster tails in a baking dish. Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  3. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds, until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and stir gently. Let it simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and lemon juice until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
  6. Spoon the creamy garlic butter sauce over the lobster tails, making sure the lobster meat is well coated.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the lobster meat is opaque, tender, and cooked through.
  8. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

Lift the lobster meat over the shell before baking for an attractive presentation and easier serving.
Begin checking the lobster at the 12-minute mark because overcooked lobster can become tough.
Use freshly grated Parmesan for the smoothest sauce.
Spoon extra creamy garlic butter sauce over the lobster just before serving.
Frozen lobster tails may be used after thawing completely in the refrigerator.
The prepared lobster tails may be grilled over medium heat instead of baked, then topped with the warm sauce before serving.
This recipe can be doubled using a larger baking dish so the tails cook evenly.
