Ingredients
  

For the Crostini
  • 1 piece baguette Sliced into 1/2 inch pieces
  • 8 ounces fresh mushrooms, chopped Use any variety, like cremini or shiitake
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For sautéing
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme or parsley, chopped For added flavor
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • as needed Parmesan cheese for topping Optional, for richness

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch slices and arrange them on a baking sheet.
Cooking
  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, then add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  2. Add the chopped mushrooms, thyme, salt, and pepper; cook until the mushrooms are softened and lightly browned.
  3. Spoon the mushroom mixture onto the toasted baguette slices.
  4. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if desired.
  5. Bake in the oven for about 5-7 minutes until heated through.
  6. Serve warm and enjoy your delicious Mushroom Crostini!

Notes

Best served fresh, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 1-2 days. Reheat in the oven for a few minutes to restore warmth.
