Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- Tear off four 12-inch sheets of heavy-duty aluminum foil and place them on a baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, dill, salt, and pepper.
Assembly
- Arrange the trimmed asparagus in the center of each piece of foil.
- Place a salmon fillet on top of the asparagus.
- Drizzle the olive oil mixture over the salmon and asparagus. Lay lemon slices on the salmon.
- Fold the foil tightly to create sealed packets, leaving enough space inside for steam.
Cooking
- Bake in the oven for about 15-18 minutes until the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145°F and flakes easily with a fork.
- Allow the packets to rest for 2 minutes before opening them carefully. Serve with fresh dill, if desired.
Notes
Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor; however, frozen salmon and asparagus can work in a pinch. Adjust the seasonings to your taste, and feel free to add herbs or spices you love. Make sure to seal the foil tightly to keep all the flavors locked inside. For a bit of heat, add some red pepper flakes to the olive oil mixture.
