Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 250 g cottage cheese Use fresh cottage cheese for best results.
  • 2 pieces eggs
  • 50 g butter, melted and cooled
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 100 g dark chocolate, chopped Feel free to substitute with milk or white chocolate.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (fan oven).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the cottage cheese, eggs, melted butter, and honey until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, vanilla sugar, and salt. Gradually fold this mixture into the cottage cheese blend. The dough should be thick and slightly sticky.
  4. Fold in the chopped dark chocolate.
  5. Sprinkle some flour on a clean surface and transfer the dough onto it. Lightly press the dough into a square about 2 cm thick.
  6. Cut the square into 9 scones.
  7. Place the scones on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for about 15 minutes or until they are golden brown.
  9. Let them cool on a wire rack, then serve and enjoy!

Notes

Serve the scones warm, with butter or jam. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for up to a month. Gentle mixing preserves texture.
