Toppings
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese Best served at room temperature for easy spreading.
  • 8 ounces Smoked salmon Use quality smoked salmon for the best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Capers For garnish and added flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh dill Chopped, for garnish.
  • 1 slices Lemon Cut into wedges for garnish.
  • to taste Black pepper Freshly ground for seasoning.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice the baguette into thin pieces or prepare crackers.
  2. Spread a layer of cream cheese on each slice.
Assembly
  1. Top each slice with a piece of smoked salmon.
  2. Add a few capers and a sprinkle of fresh dill.
  3. Garnish with a slice of lemon and a dash of black pepper.
  4. Serve on a platter as an appetizer.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh. Can prepare components in advance but assemble just before serving for optimal taste. Consider variations like using shrimp or vegetables.
