Main Ingredients
  • 4 ripe bananas Use ripe bananas for the best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup banana liqueur (optional) Skip if non-alcoholic.
  • 1/4 cup dark rum Optional; can be omitted.
  • Vanilla ice cream for serving

Method
 

Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Stir in the brown sugar and cinnamon until well combined.
  3. Cut the bananas in half lengthwise and add them to the skillet. Cook for 1-2 minutes, until the bananas become tender.
  4. If using, carefully add the banana liqueur and rum. Allow the mixture to bubble for another minute.
  5. Serve warm over scoops of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Best served warm. Consider adding toasted walnuts or pecans for added crunch.
