Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup rolled oats Use old-fashioned rolled oats for a chewier texture.
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with almond or coconut flour.
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped Ensure strawberries are fresh and ripe.
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup Adjust sweetness to taste.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the oats, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Stir in the melted butter until everything is combined well.
  4. Press half of this mixture into a greased 8x8 inch baking dish.
  5. Top with the chopped strawberries and drizzle with honey or maple syrup.
  6. Crumble the remaining oat mixture on top of the strawberries.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Let the bars cool before cutting them into squares.

Notes

These bars can be served warm or at room temperature. Store them in an airtight container for up to three days at room temperature, or refrigerate for up to a week. They can also be frozen for up to three months.
