Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons oil For frying
  • 8 ounces tempeh, chopped into bite-sized pieces Press to remove moisture for best results
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced For added flavor
Sauce Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons honey Adjust sweetness to taste
  • 2 tablespoons water To thin the sauce
  • 1 tablespoon reduced-sodium soy sauce For umami flavor
  • 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce Adds depth to the glaze

Method
 

Cooking
  1. In a pan over medium-high heat, add 1 tablespoon of oil.
  2. Add the chopped, bite-sized tempeh cubes and fry until golden on each side. Set aside.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, water, soy sauce, and teriyaki sauce. Set aside.
  4. Add the remaining oil to a pan or wok over medium heat.
  5. Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Pour in the mixed liquids (honey, water, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce) and combine with the garlic. Simmer for 2 minutes.
  7. Add the tempeh back to the pan and stir-fry until well-coated with the glaze, about 2-3 minutes.

Notes

Serve hot garnished with sesame seeds or green onions. Enjoy with steamed rice or whole grain noodles. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
