  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce For the teriyaki sauce.
  • 2 tablespoons Mirin Japanese rice wine.
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 2 tablespoons Sake Optional, for additional flavor.
  • 4 cups Steamed rice To serve the chicken over.

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, sugar, and sake to create the teriyaki sauce.
  2. Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces.
Cooking
  1. Heat a pan over medium heat and add the chicken.
  2. Cook until the chicken is brown.
  3. Pour the teriyaki sauce over the chicken and stir until fully coated and cooked through.
Serving
  1. Serve the chicken over warm steamed rice.
  2. Add optional steamed vegetables like broccoli or carrots and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the teriyaki sauce for about 30 minutes before cooking. Store leftovers separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
