  • 1/2 cup butter, softened Ensure butter is at room temperature for better mixing.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips You can substitute with peanut butter chips or white chocolate chunks.
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix well.
Mixing Dry Ingredients
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until combined.
  3. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Spread the batter into a greased baking dish.
  2. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  3. Let it cool before cutting into squares.

Notes

Serve warm with powdered sugar on top or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Store in an airtight container at room temperature. Best within a week, can be refrigerated or frozen for longer storage. Avoid overmixing for a lighter texture and feel free to add nuts or dried fruits for variation.
