Method
- Season the diced chicken with paprika, Italian seasoning, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- Add the remaining butter and sliced mushrooms to the same skillet. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes, until the mushrooms are browned and tender.
- Add the shrimp and cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side, until pink, opaque, and cooked through. Remove the shrimp and mushrooms from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir well and simmer gently for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Stir in the Parmesan and mozzarella until completely melted and the garlic sauce is smooth and creamy.
- Return the chicken, shrimp, and mushrooms to the skillet. Gently toss everything in the creamy garlic sauce until evenly coated.
- Simmer for another 2 to 3 minutes, then sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve this creamy shrimp and chicken skillet hot on its own or over the cooked pasta for an easy seafood dinner.
Notes
Cook the chicken until browned and fully cooked before removing it from the skillet.
Let the mushrooms brown well so they develop deeper flavor before adding the shrimp.
Cook the shrimp only until pink and opaque to keep them tender.
Sauté the garlic briefly so it becomes fragrant without burning.
Keep the cream sauce at a gentle simmer for the smoothest texture.
Stir in the Parmesan and mozzarella gradually until completely melted.
Return the chicken, shrimp, and mushrooms at the end and simmer only long enough to heat everything through.
The optional cooked pasta can be used for serving but is not required.
