Creamy Add-ins
  • 2 tablespoons Cream Cheese Swap for dairy-free cream cheese if desired.
  • 1 teaspoon Parmesan Cheese Nutritional yeast can be used for a dairy-free version.
Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Fresh minced garlic can also be used.

Method
 

Cooking Oats
  1. In a medium saucepan, bring the broth or water to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Add the rolled oats to the boiling liquid and stir gently.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the oats reach your desired creaminess.
  4. Stir in the cream cheese and Parmesan cheese until melted and fully incorporated.
  5. Add the garlic powder and mix well.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.

Notes

For extra flavor, sauté some onions or mushrooms before adding the oats. Experiment with different cheese types or add spices like paprika or cayenne for a kick. Consider adding greens like kale or spinach during the last few minutes of cooking for additional nutrients.
