Preparation
- Trim the stem ends of the Brussels sprouts, remove any yellow or damaged outer leaves, and cut each sprout in half lengthwise. If they are large, you can quarter them.
- Chop the bacon into bite-sized pieces.
Cooking
- Place the chopped bacon in the air fryer basket and cook at 360°F (182°C) for about 5 minutes, or until crispy. Remove the bacon and set it aside, leaving the bacon fat in the basket.
- In a large bowl, toss the Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Optional: toss them in the reserved bacon fat for added flavor. Add the cooked bacon pieces and gently toss again.
- Spread the seasoned Brussels sprouts in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. The sprouts should be golden brown on the edges and tender inside.
- Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Optionally, squeeze some lemon juice over the top before serving.
Notes
These Brussels sprouts are perfect as a side dish, snack, or added to a salad for crunch. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer to restore crispiness.
