Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved Make sure to cut them into similar sizes for even cooking.
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped Chop into bite-sized pieces.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper Adjust to taste.

Method

Preparation
  1. Trim the stem ends of the Brussels sprouts, remove any yellow or damaged outer leaves, and cut each sprout in half lengthwise. If they are large, you can quarter them.
  2. Chop the bacon into bite-sized pieces.
Cooking
  1. Place the chopped bacon in the air fryer basket and cook at 360°F (182°C) for about 5 minutes, or until crispy. Remove the bacon and set it aside, leaving the bacon fat in the basket.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Optional: toss them in the reserved bacon fat for added flavor. Add the cooked bacon pieces and gently toss again.
  3. Spread the seasoned Brussels sprouts in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. The sprouts should be golden brown on the edges and tender inside.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Optionally, squeeze some lemon juice over the top before serving.

Notes

These Brussels sprouts are perfect as a side dish, snack, or added to a salad for crunch. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer to restore crispiness.
