Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 8 pieces chicken drumsticks, skin-on and bone-in
  • 1/4 cup honey Use pure honey for the best taste. Maple syrup can be used as a substitute.
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce Can substitute with tamari or coconut aminos for gluten-free.
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic enhances flavor; can use garlic powder as a substitute.
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes Adjust according to your taste; can substitute with paprika.
  • black pepper to taste
  • salt to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
Mix the Sauce
  1. In a bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, minced garlic, chili flakes, black pepper, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients blend together.
Coat the Drumsticks
  1. Place the chicken drumsticks in a large bowl. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the chicken and toss until each piece is well-coated.
Bake
  1. Place the coated drumsticks on the prepared wire rack. Bake in the preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes, turning halfway through, until the chicken is cooked through and crispy on the outside.

Notes

Make sure to dry the chicken drumsticks with paper towels before coating them for extra crispiness. Feel free to marinate the chicken in the sauce for a few hours or overnight to enhance the flavor. Adjust the chili flakes based on your heat preference.
