  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined Ensure shrimp are fresh or properly thawed.
  • 2 cups broccoli florets You can substitute with asparagus or green beans.
  • 4 tablespoons butter For a richer flavor, use unsalted butter.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust according to preference.
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) Add for a spicy kick.
  • 1 Juice Juice of 1 lemon
  • as needed Chopped parsley for garnish Sprinkle some more before serving for freshness.

Method
 

Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet, season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook until the shrimp are pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  4. Add the broccoli florets and continue to cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is tender-crisp.
  5. Squeeze the lemon juice over the shrimp and broccoli, and stir to combine.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat gently in a skillet over low heat, adding a splash of broth or butter to keep it moist.
