Ingredients

  • 2 large russet potatoes
  • 1/2 lb steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Equipment

  • Baking sheet For baking the potatoes
  • Steamer basket or saucepan For steaming the broccoli
  • large skillet For cooking the steak and shrimp
  • small saucepan For making the cheddar sauce
  • fork For piercing and fluffing the potatoes
  • Tongs or silicone spatula

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Pierce the potatoes several times with a fork and bake until tender and fluffy, about 50 to 60 minutes.
  2. Steam the broccoli florets until tender crisp. Set aside while you prepare the steak and shrimp.
  3. Season the steak bites with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium high heat and sear the steak until browned and cooked to your preferred doneness. Remove and set aside.
  4. Melt the butter in the same skillet. Season the shrimp with paprika, then cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side until pink, opaque, and tender.
  5. Warm the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium low heat. Gradually stir in the shredded cheddar until completely melted and the cheese sauce is creamy and smooth.
  6. Slice each baked potato open and fluff the inside with a fork. Fill generously with broccoli, juicy steak bites, and buttery shrimp.
  7. Spoon the warm cheddar cheese sauce generously over the loaded surf and turf baked potatoes. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve hot for an easy seafood dinner packed with shrimp, steak, and cheesy comfort.

Notes

Bake the potatoes until completely tender and fluffy so they are easy to open and fill.
Steam the broccoli only until tender-crisp so it keeps some texture.
Sear the steak over medium-high heat until browned and cooked to your preferred doneness.
Cook the shrimp only until pink and opaque to keep them tender.
Warm the heavy cream gently and add the cheddar gradually so the cheese sauce stays smooth.
Fluff the inside of each baked potato before adding the fillings.
Serve immediately while the steak, shrimp, potatoes, and cheddar sauce are hot.
