Ingredients

Shrimp and Sauce Ingredients
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Serving Ingredients
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving
  • Green onions, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix gochujang, soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger to make the sauce.
Cooking
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the shrimp to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until they turn pink, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  3. Pour the sauce over the shrimp and toss to coat. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
Serving
  1. Serve the shrimp over cooked rice or noodles and garnish with chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

Make sure the shrimp are fully peeled and deveined to save time later. Adjust the level of gochujang based on your heat preference. For a little more crunch, add some bell peppers or snap peas into the skillet while cooking the shrimp. If you like more sauce, double the sauce ingredients for a saucier dish.
